Tribe’s EOC Reports 2 New COVID-19 Cases: 11 Total Active

AKWESASNE — The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is reporting two (2) new cases of COVID-19 today, which makes eleven (11) total active cases under the Tribe’s jurisdiction. There are no resolved cases and 64 of our family and friends remain in quarantine. We ask that you please show everyone kindness and compassion during this difficult time.

The EOC is urging people to limit direct contact to only those who reside in your immediate household. While many people have traditions to watch the Super Bowl together, gathering in groups is not encouraged due to the ongoing pandemic. Help prevent the spread of COVID-19 by watching the game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Kansas City Chiefs at home with those who live with you.

For those who suspect they’ve been exposed to a positive case and are awaiting notification through contact tracing, please self-quarantine and monitor your symptoms for fever or chills, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, or loss of taste or smell. If you have any questions about the quarantine process, please do not hesitate to call Theresa Gardner or Lynne Thompson at (518) 358-3141.

Akwesasne residents and employees can schedule a test by contacting Mountain Medical Urgent Care in Malone at (518) 521-3322 or their facility in Massena at (315) 705-0700. For anyone seeking to obtain their COVID-19 results for a test conducted by the Tribe’s Health Services or its mass testing provider, please call the clinic’s new direct line at (518) 333-0230.

If you have a non-emergency matter, please call the Emergency Operations Center at (518) 320-0019; Monday-Friday, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
