AKWESASNE — The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Emergency Operations Center and Health Services reported 17 new positive cases of COVID-19 from January 31, 2022 to February 4, 2022. There is a total of 24 active cases in Akwesasne’s southern portion, with three (3) family members and friends currently hospitalized due to severe complications from the coronavirus. We offer our sincere wishes for a safe recovery and continue to encourage unvaccinated individuals to please choose to get vaccinated. Being vaccinated greatly reduces your chances of being hospitalized due to COVID-19.

During the weekend, Akwesasne residents and employees can schedule a FREE COVID-19 PCR or Rapid Molecular test by contacting Mountain Medical from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.:

Next week, Health Services is conducting COVID-19 PCR testing on Mondays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (or while supplies last) at their main campus located at 404 State Route 37. Please use the road located across from the intersection of State Route 37 and McGee Road and follow the signs for clinic’s testing garage.
COVID-19 HOME TEST KITS:
For individuals who have COVID-19 Home Test Kits, Health Services kindly reminds you that they should only used if you are displaying symptoms; such as diarrhea, fever/chills, headaches and body aches, cough, nausea and vomiting, fever, and/or a loss of taste or smell.
If you test positive, please isolate away from others and self-report results to St. Lawrence County Public Health at (315) 386-2325, SRMT Contact Tracers at (518) 333-0230, or Franklin County Public Health at https://bit.ly/3njGiRa. Positive cases should also notify others of potential exposure.
