SRMT Reminds Community that COVID-19 Protective Measures are Still in Place

AKWESASNE — CDC guidelines have relaxed mask wearing and social distancing measures for those fully vaccinated when visiting family members outside of your household bubble, however The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe (SRMT) reminds community members that protective measures that were developed to keep us all safe are still in effect, regardless of vaccination status: Wear your mask in public places. Stay at least six (6) feet apart from others who do not live in your household bubble. Wash your hands often for at least 20 seconds, and do not travel outside of the 300-mile radius for non-essential travel. The number of cases is slowly improving, but we ask everyone to please help prevent any further spread.

As a reminder, any travel outside the territory should be for essential purposes. Based on Health Service recommendations, SRMT continues to advise of a 300-mile radius travel limit, excluding COVID hotspots. Anyone traveling outside of the 300-mile travel radius, including students, are required to quarantine for 10 days regardless of vaccination status.

If you have a non-emergency matter, please call the Tribe’s Emergency Operations Center at (518) 320-0019 or MCA’s EOC at (613) 575-5005 or (613) 575-2331.
