AKWESASNE -- The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s (SRMT) Community & Family Services Division is pleased to announce that it has enhanced its ability to assist community members in having safe and rewarding lives. They are pleased to announce the recent addition of three (3) new tribal program managers: Alexandra David, Sarah Bogett, and Mary LaFrance.
Alexandra David joins the Tribe’s Community & Family Services Division as the Homeowners Assistance Fund (HAF) Program Manager, while Sarah Bogett was selected as the new Family Support Program Manager and Mary LaFrance will serve as Program Manager for the Tribal Vocational Rehabilitation (TVR) Program.
“Filling these three positions for the Akwesasne community was an extremely important and competitive process,” shared Sandy Rourke, SRMT Community & Family Services Division Director. Rourke added, “I offer each of them my sincere congratulations and I look forward to working with these talented ladies as they get settled into their new roles.”
Alexandra brings more than two decades of experience in project management and organizational support to the Homeowners Assistance Fund Program, which includes work as a grant manager and a program coordinator. As the HAF Program Manager, she will help develop the program’s services and assistance for homeowners seeking relief due to the financial impact of COVID-19. It will provide technical assistance and other support in helping individuals overcome financial hardships, such as help paying for their mortgage or other qualified expenses.
One of the core programs of the Community & Family Services Division, Sarah Borgett brings to the Family Support Program the professional experience she has gained since 2000 working with individuals dealing with intellectual disabilities. As the Family Support Program Manager, she will help direct efforts to aid, care, and support individuals with any developmental disability. She will help guide the program in fostering self-determination and independence, where possible, for individuals to improve their quality of life through a supportive environment.
Mary LaFrance transitions to the Tribal Vocational Rehabilitation Program from the Tribe’s Office of Economic Development, where she served for eight (8) years as their Program Support Officer -- assisting small businesses and spearheading workforce and community development initiatives. As the new TVR Program Manager, she will oversee efforts to help integrate individuals with disabilities into the labor force. She will help manage efforts to develop individualized plans for clients to find and secure meaningful employment.
“The addition of Alexandra David, Sarah Borgett, and Mary LaFrance brings a significant amount of experience and knowledge to the Tribe’s Community & Family Services Division. As our newest tribal program managers, I’m proud that they will be able to continue their work towards improving the overall quality of life for community members. I ask that you please join me in welcoming and congratulating them,” noted SRMT Executive Director Tsiorasa Barreiro.
