The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe provides notification of the Seasonal Weight Restrictions in affect from March 1st to May 15th each year for all roads within the jurisdiction of the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe and/or the Tribe’s road inventory.
The restrictions apply to large transportation vehicles traversing through the Akwesasne territory in order to protect investments into community roadways and tribal members’ personal vehicles. Imposed by Tribal Council Resolution 2019-31, weight limits are as follows:
• i. Six (6) tons for gross load for single axle vehicles;
• ii. Ten (10) tons gross load for tandem axle vehicles (any two axles under 8 feet); and
• ii. A maximum gross load of 24 tons for multiple axles.
