AKWESASNE – (Ohiarí:ha/June 17, 2024) The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal Council remains committed to bringing forth a new St. Regis Mohawk Elementary School in partnership with New York State and the Salmon River Central School District. The Tribal Council is currently collaborating with the New York State Office of General Services and its contractor, Vaysen Studio to obtain the community input on the proposed design of the new St. Regis Mohawk School.
At the Onerathokó:wa/May 4, 2024 Tribal Monthly Meeting, Sub-Chief Agnes “Sweets” Jacobs shared a presentation on the proposed design, which is available with the accompanying full design packet on the Tribe’s website at www.srmt-nsn.gov.
The Tribal Council is seeking comments on the proposed design for the new St. Regis Mohawk School until Friday, June 28, 2024 via e-mail to public.comment@srmt-nsn.gov.
In addition, the Tribe is seeking statements of support for a new St. Regis Mohawk School via Microsoft form here until Monday, July 29, 2024.
