Akwesasne - The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal Council along with the Compliance Department invites tribal members to three community meetings for comment and review on the draft of the new General Business Ordinance.
The purpose of this ordinance is to safeguard and promote the peace, safety and general welfare of the Tribe by regulating those who do business on the Reservation. This ordinance sets forth a nominal fee for general business licenses and peddler’s permits and also requires all business people, including vendors, peddlers and other types of sellers, with some exceptions, to obtain a license from the Tribe and provide information as the type of business, identity of business owners as well as the identity of any salespeople.
Dates for these meetings are as follows:
Wednesday, June 14, 2017 from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Wednesday, June 21, 2017 from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Wednesday, July 12, 2017 from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m.
All meetings will be held in the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Community Building lobby.
