Tribal Council will accept budget at December 21st Work Session
AKWESASNE – The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe is notifying members that no comments or concerns were received during the 15-day comment period on the Draft 2023 Annual Tribal Budget. In accordance with the Tribal Procedures Act adopted by tribal referendum on Ohiarí:ha/June 1, 2013; tribal members had until December 15th to submit comments following the draft budget’s presentation on November 30th.
The Kentenhkó:wa/November 30th meeting was required by the Tribal Procedures Act to ensure that financial transparency and accountability is provided to membership. A second meeting would have been required to respond to any comments that were submitted, which there were none.
The 2023 Annual Tribal Budget will now move forward to its acceptance by Tribal Council Resolution at Tribal Council’s Work Session being held on Tsiothóhrha/December 21st beginning at 9:00 a.m.
Tribal members wanting to know more about the 2023 Annual Tribal Budget may continue to do so on the Tribal Members Portal, which is located on the Tribe’s website. Members can access a budget summary, presentation, and view a video recording of the Kentenhkó:wa/November 30th meeting.
