SUMMARY: Assists the Center for Media and Communications with enhancing and promoting a positive perception of the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe by managing the tribal website to effectively inform and reach out to community members, the media, and the general public.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: 

  • Manages website and web content, providing routine updates of information and material, and develops future pages and online initiatives, including graphic elements in various formats.
  • Maintains integrity and security of website.
  • Implement updates, upgrades, and patches in a timely manner to limit loss of service.
  • Assists with coordinating special events, conferences, press conferences, and tribal meetings.
  • Collaborate with development teams to discuss, analyze, or resolve usability issues.
  • Test issues such as system integration, performance, and system security on a regular schedule or after any major program modifications.
  • Perform user testing or usage analyses to determine Web sites' effectiveness or usability.
  • Document application and Web site changes or change procedures.
  • Track, compile, and analyze Web site usage data.
  • Test backup or recovery plans regularly and resolve any problems.
  • Recommend Web site improvements, and develop budgets to support recommendations.
  • Review or update Web page content or links in a timely manner, using appropriate tools.
  • Collaborate with IT to install or configure Web server software or hardware to ensure that directory structure is well-defined, logical, and secure, and that files are named properly.
  • Gather, analyze, or document user feedback to locate or resolve sources of problems.
  • Set up or maintain monitoring tools on Web servers or Web sites.
  • Monitor Web developments through continuing education, reading, or participation in professional conferences, workshops, or groups.
  • Develop or document style guidelines for Web site content.
  • Develop Web site performance metrics.
  • Develop or implement procedures for ongoing Web site revision.
  • Inform Web site users of problems, problem resolutions, or application changes and updates.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: There are no supervisory requirements for this position.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic and ability to work well in a fast-paced environment, often under tight timelines and rolling deadlines.  Must be self-motivated, possess strong organizational and computer skills.

Education and Experience

  • Associate’s degree from college or university in business administration, writing, or a related field; AND
    • Two (2) years related experience and/or training; 

OR 

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other Skills and Abilities: Expertise in design software Adobe Creative Cloud: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator. Comfortable using minor design software programs such as Canva and templates.  Strong portfolio that demonstrates a solid understanding of website development.  Experience designing with a brand guideline.  Must have experience with content management systems for the web, editing skills, and be able to work in a team-oriented environment.  Computer testing in the applicable skills may be a requirement during the interview process.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean drivers abstract in accordance with the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Fleet Policy.
