SUMMARY: Plays a key role in ensuring a safe and fair gaming environment by monitoring casino activities. Observes and monitors activities through surveillance equipment to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, detect suspicious behavior, and protect assets. Reports violations, irregularities and security.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor casino gaming and non-gaming activities, guests, and employees using surveillance equipment to ensure compliance with regulations and security protocols.
- Detect and report suspicious activities, cheating, theft, or policy violations to the appropriate departments for investigation.
- Maintain a strong understanding of casino operations, fraud detection methods, and industry best practices for game protection.
- Ensure compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), System of Accounting and Internal Controls (SAICs), and regulatory requirements.
- Stay knowledgeable about the Tribal-State Compact and its impact on Class II & III gaming operations.
- Document and maintain accurate reports of incidents, observations, and routine surveillance activities.
- Operate and troubleshoot surveillance equipment, ensuring all systems are functioning properly.
- Assist in investigations by reviewing footage, gathering evidence, and providing detailed reports to management and regulatory bodies.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while handling sensitive security matters.
- Work collaboratively with casino management, security, and regulatory agencies to uphold a safe and fair gaming environment.
- Adheres to all policies and procedures outlined in the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe Personnel Policy.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the Surveillance equipment and room.
- Ensure construction and maintenance of all gaming facilities and the operation of all activities is conducted in a manner that adequately protects the environment and public health and safety of all individuals.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: There are not supervisory responsibilities for this position.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Requires working shift work, weekends, holidays, and evenings to ensure 24/7 surveillance coverage.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must pass a test for illegal substances prior to employment being confirmed.
- Must obtain and maintain a Class III occupational gaming license issued from the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal Gaming Commission.
- Knowledge of casino games and game protection.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Associates degree from a 2-year college or university in a related field; OR
- High school diploma or equivalent with at least one year of related experience.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Strong oral and written communication skills required. Must have excellent computer skills including word, excel, outlook, and ability to work with varying databases. Testing in the applicable skills may be a requirement during the interview process.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form and solve practical problems.
