Summary: The Agriculture Laborer is responsible for performing all labor-related tasks involved with program activities at the Tribal Farm. This includes the Mother Earth Egg and pork production, market and traditional foods garden, composting, and general farm maintenance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Exhibit a friendly and courteous manner when dealing with the public and fellow associates.
- Perform all manual and labor tasks in the production of crops, such as planting, weeding, pruning, harvesting, cleaning, and inventory of produce.
- Assist with constructing and repairing farm buildings, fences, and other structures.
- Feed, water, and care for livestock animals.
- Collect, wash, candle, package, and distribute eggs.
- Clean work areas, and maintain cleanliness around the grounds.
- Assisted with loading agricultural products into trucks and with the farmer’s market.
- Collect and transfer organic materials used for the production of compost.
- Inform the Manager and Supervisor of crop progress.
- Cleaning and maintenance of pig enclosures, chicken coops, and nesting boxes.
- Assist with the transport of livestock animals when needed.
- Inform the Supervisor of project activity and status.
- Assist with the moving of objects that weigh over 50 pounds.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: There are no supervisor requirements for this position.

Education and/or Experience: No formal education is required. One year of agricultural experience is preferred. One year of experience with livestock is preferred.

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license in accordance with the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Fleet Policy.
The successful candidate must pass a drug test and background check prior to employment.
