SUMMARY: The pharmacist will dispense drugs prescribed by physicians and other health practitioners and provide information to patients about medications and their use. The Pharmacist may advise physicians and other health practitioners on the selection, dosage, interactions and side effect of medications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITLES:

· Review prescriptions to assure accuracy to ascertain eh needed ingredients, and to evaluate their suitability;

· Provide information and advice regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and proper medication storage;

· Maintain records, such as pharmacy files, patient profiles, inventories and control records or registry with controlled drugs;

· Fill prescriptions electronically and review proper wording of medications along with interacting with providers;

· Plan, implement, or maintain procedures for mixing, packaging or labeling pharmaceuticals, acceding to policy and legal requirements to ensure quality, security, a proper disposal;

· Assess the identity, strength, or purity of medications;

· Collaborate with other health care professionals to plan, monitory, review, or evaluate the quality or effectiveness of drugs or drug regimens, providing advice on drug applications or characteristics;

· Order and purchase pharmaceutical supplies, medical supplies, or drugs, maintaining stock and storing and handling it properly;

· Analyze prescribing trends to monitor patient compliance and to prevent excessive usage or harmful interactions;

· Advise customers on the selection of medication brands, medical equipment, or healthcare supplies;

· Compound and dispense medication as prescribe by doctors and dentist, by calculating, weighing, measuring, and missing ingredients, or oversee these activities.

· Other duties as necessary

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: Supervisory responsibility is required in the absence of the Supervising Pharmacist.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

- 2 years of pharmacy experience, AND.

- Current NY State Pharmacist Registration

- Bachelor of Pharmacy or PharmD Preferred

The successful candidate must pass a test for illegal substances prior to employment being confirmed.

The successful candidate must pass a criminal background check prior to employment.
