SUMMARY:  The Complete Youth Prevention Education Program (CYPEP) Coordinator is under the supervision of the Prevention Coordinator and is responsible to oversee the implementation of the CYPEP project to fidelity within the Salmon River Central School District: 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:  

  • Regular communication with the grant agency’s Prevention Planning and Education Coordinator (PPEC), including monthly check ins over the course of the project 
  • Collaborate with local schools to coordinate CYPEP Program – regular visits to ensure fidelity and offer support and coaching

  • Teen Intervene 
  • Triple P (Positive Parenting Program) 
  • Facilitate training for school staff and prevention staff on the project 
  • Monitor program materials and supplies 
  • Oversight of the implementation of each program to fidelity 
  • Attend project meetings 
  • Facilitate monthly parenting groups in the community 
  • Create and facilitate program committees with teachers and staff 
  • Coordinate and host site visits with funding agency to observe classroom implementation, provide support, and get school and provider feedback 
  • Responsible for data collection and maintaining accurate information for reporting 
  • Work in conjunction with grant agency to complete any additional details or goals needed for effective project completion 
  • Perform other duties, as needed 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: There are no supervisor requirements for this position. 

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must have a thorough understanding of the disease concept of alcoholism, and how the disease affects the family and Native American communities in general.  Must have two years of sobriety for a recovering person. Must not abuse alcohol and/or any other drug for a non-recovering person.   

 

Education and/or Experience:  

  • Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in the field of Human Services, Education, or a related field  
  • 1 year experience in the provision of alcoholism/chemical dependency, education, or related field, preferred 

 

Other Skills and Abilities: Strong listening, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills required. Must have excellent computer skills.  Knowledge of computers, preferred.  Must be able to interact with all age groups, be sensitive to different developmental stages of youth, adapt to various work settings, and be able to work flexible hours. Work in a team-based setting. 

 

Reasoning Ability:  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form. 

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean drivers abstract in accordance with the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Fleet Policy.
