SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Education, Employment and Training Manager, the Career Intern Coordinator is responsible for leading, developing and mentoring students through the Summer Intern and Youth Intern Program. The coordinator needs to have a positive attitude, be energetic, self-motivated, trustworthy and hard working.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Adhere to all policies and standards as dictated by Tribal and Departmental Policies
- Work with program managers to facilitate job matching with the intern’s career path and organize interview process
- Possess strong work ethic and professional conduct
- Works with summer interns to address customer service, confidentiality, professional conduct, disciplinary concerns and work ethic
- Communicates with employers and troubleshoots workplace concerns
- Administer pre and post evaluations for summer interns
- Maintain open communication with employer’s and interns to assess the quality and success of placements
- Provides career guidance to interns including but not limited to employment options and higher education financial options

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Must be currently enrolled in an accredited post-secondary program; AND
- Minimum 3 months experience working with students in required.
Preferred
- An Associate’s degree (A.A.) or Bachelor’s degree; AND
- Minimum 3 months experience working with students in required.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Strong oral and written communication skills required. Must have excellent computer skills including word, excel, and experience with varying databases.
Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license in accordance with the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Fleet Policy.
The successful candidate must pass a drug test and criminal background check prior to employment.
