SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Accounts Payable Supervisor, the Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for processing invoices received for payment and for undertaking the payment of all vendors in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner. In addition, the Accounts Payable Clerk is to follow the guidelines of the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe policies and procedures, internal control standards, and objectives by performing the following duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Ensures payments are done accurately and up to date.
- Sends EFT payment remittances to vendors weekly
- Process journal vouchers for payroll deductions
- Calculate and prepare journal vouchers to record monthly for postage distribution
- Reviews monthly statements for past due invoices and resolves payment issues.
- Setup new credit card users and passwords in CentreSuite
- Create expense reports in CentreSuite for credit card transactions.
- Import approved expense reports from CentreSuite to cash disbursements in MIP.
- Review receiving reports with invoices, check requests, vouchers, etc. for completeness and compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Enters invoice data in the accounts payable module to create AP Batches. Ensures no errors are in AP batches by changing the status to Batch to Post.
- Prepares and imports various cash disbursements and journal vouchers
- Selects AP invoices for payments & prepares for AP check processing.
- Provides backup in the absence of other Accounts Payable Clerks
- Assist AP Supervisor as needed
- Other related duties as assigned
- Promote the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe in a positive manner
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: There are no supervisor requirements for this position.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Associate's Degree from a College or University in Accounting or related field AND
- 1 year's related experience and/or training;
OR
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Knowledgeable regarding the OMB Super Circular and prior experience in Fund Accounting. Strong oral and "written communication skills required. Must have excellent computer skills, including Word and Excel, and experience with varying databases. Abila MIP Fund Accounting and ADP training is an asset but not required. Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Computer testing in the applicable skills may be a requirement during the interview process.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret various instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
