FAMILY SUPPORT

The Family Support department is committed to assisting developmentally disabled Native American community members in many aspects of their lives. Our goal is to promote independence, community inclusion and choices in their lives. We focus on an individual's strengths and to recognize their individual gifts within themselves to help achieve their goals.

Services are provided to families with developmentally disabled family members living at home. Types of services offered are case management, information provision, referral, outreach, financial and life planning assistance, and transportation to medical and personal appointments. We also provide assistance with the SSI application process, public assistance, and legal issues. In addition we offer an adult recreation program; which allows developmentally disabled adults to participate in a range of planned recreational activities. Funds are also available to families for respite. Staff is also available to provide support to parents with the Committee on Special Education process.
