The Economic Development departments responsibility is to establish economic growth in Akwesasne through entrepreneurship and business development. Past accomplishments have been: Casino Development, Business Directory, Trade Show and Golf Tournament, NY State Department of Transportation, Business Training Workshops, F.R.A. Engineering Study (draft plan) and New Business Research. Goals for the next five years include Tourism, Casino Development, Commercial Manufacturing Development and to use our Natural Resources for beaches, recreation areas, parks and nature trails as well as develop snowmobile trails and fishing tournaments.
