Shift Supervisor
Division: Akwesasne Group Home
Salary: $13.90 / Additional $1 per hour after 4 pm - 8 am
Status: Full-Time

Summary of Duties:

The Supervisor will be a Social Services level Case-Worker and will be responsible for all program case loads.  He/she must be able to work shift work and be willing to work closely with troubled adolescents, their families, schools, medical professionals and the court system; as well as supervising a 24 hr. staff.

Duties:

  • Able to react professionally in a stressful an/or critical situation.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Documenting and note taking.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Case level work.
  • Mentoring troubled adolescents as well as guiding and instructing a large staff.
  • Prepare detailed service plans.
  • Conduct and prepare service plan meetings with the families and the local agencies.
  • Assist with the day-to-day activitities.
  • Able to act in the Manager or Assist. Manager’s absence  in all aspects of the program.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree and 3-5 years experience supervising a large staff.  Related experience working with youth.  Good writing and communication skills as well as strong computer knowledge.  Must be willing to have a criminal background check and provide proof of a valid drivers license.

DRUG TESTING POLICY

The successful applicant for employment must submit to a drug test for illegal substances prior to employment being confirmed.  The testing is performed at the laboratory at the Alice Hyde Hospital in Malone, NY.   Test results are normally received in three to five days from the date of the test.  In the case of a positive result, the candidate is not eligible for employment with the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe.  Employment may not begin until this process has been completed.
